Goals
The TED Conferences, renowned for championing “Ideas Worth Spreading,” hold themselves and their partners to the highest standards of flawless execution. Their commitment to providing life-changing experiences for both speakers and audiences demands unwavering support and earnest dedication from all involved vendors. When TED extended its Idea Search to Nairobi and Lagos, they sought a partner who possessed an innate understanding of live event production, its unique challenges, and the ability to execute and troubleshoot effectively, regardless of the location.

Solution
SFG took on the responsibility of hiring, managing, and overseeing all aspects of audiovisual support for these TED events. Collaborating closely with local vendors and event organizers, our team orchestrated seamless programs in Nairobi, Kenya, and Lagos, Nigeria. With a dedicated skeleton crew, we tackled both events with creative problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking. Our team’s experience working with a few key principal leads and sourcing outside equipment and crew labor came in handy when we had to flex and source vendors and labor in a new continent– even when working totally remotely.

Results
The impact of these TED talks has been nothing short of remarkable, with over 4 million views and countless lives transformed by the ideas shared. These events featured an impressive lineup of 60+ speakers, drew in 500+ enthusiastic attendees, and were enriched by captivating live music and dance performances that added vibrancy to the overall experience.
